Pish P.O.S.H.

This store is great and I am so pleased that their site is great too! When I lived in Chicago a while back I used to love visiting P.O.S.H. I have a thing for diners and I love me some coffee. Thanks to P.O.S.H. I can now serve my own dinner on diner ware and drink my coffee at home in some vintage mugs minus the attitude laden waitress. The website is chalk full of fun vintage and surprising finds.

"At some point in your life, you want something that is real!" That thought is what drives P.O.S.H. to search high & low for the items that stock its shelves - an eclectic assortment of vintage Hotel Silver, Restaurant China & Flea Market Finds. Found in such disparate places as old American china warehouses to the antique markets and auction houses of Europe, the items sold at P.O.S.H. are often one-of-a-kind or limited in quantity. From a vintage silverplate Tea Service once used in an English Country Inn to a beautiful Water Pitcher from a Grand Hotel in New York, many of our pieces tell a romantic story of an age gone by."

I want to say this...

I love you for what you are, but I love you yet more for what you are going to be. I love you not so much for your realities as for your ideals. I pray for your desires that they may be great, rather than for your satisfactions, which may be so hazardously little. A satisfied flower is one whose petals are about to fall. The most beautiful rose is one hardly more than a bud wherein the pangs and ecstasies of desire are working for a larger and finer growth. Not always shall you be what you are now. You are going forward toward something great. I am on the way with you and therefore I love you."

YAS, I can!

I am finally done working...at least for a little bit. You know what that means? It is time to kick ass! I am back into Yoga and I am loving it!!! Oh sweet down dog it has been too long. I am in such need to get physical that I am thinking about getting a 10 class pass to YAS (Yoga And Spin). That first class in spin is a killer but every class after that gives you such a feeling of accomplishment and glee. I definitely could use some of that. And having a GREAT yoga instructor can really make all the difference. I have fallen hard for Nicole Sessions and I would follow her any where. She gives the most perfect balance of ass kicking and spiritual enlightenment yoga there ever was.
My new secret weapon is my Yogitoes grip mat. I finally got to lay her out last Thursday after buying it in January. What a difference! My hands and feet get so sweaty that it made plank that much more unbearable. Now I look forward to floating to the top. Oh the joys of exercise gadgetry.

Where do you do yoga? What exercise makes you glow and feel great about yourself and your body?

Beauty in the most interesting way

I want these. Actually I probably want everything available on this site. Some of the jewelry is so random that is blows my mind with beauty. I am a sucker for random everyday being the total definition of beauty. I mean cinder block necklace? perfection. I could make so much bullshit symbolism with that AND I would actually believe it all!
Thank you Areaware for your beautiful ware.

It is my dream to have a image covered wall. And every one knows I love kitzies.

I love this bird house. It is like a mini Epcot center for birdies. Also, I would definitely save some coins for this little piggy.

Dolce Vita causes much lust - Ah

I went looking for their shoes and fell in love with their clothes. I think these would rock on my lovely artistic friend Margaret. I have to say, I am kinda happy about the body suit return. I wore my fair share in jr. high and would not breaking those babies out again. But this time I will sport them with a puffy high waisted skirt rather than baggy mens jeans. (I was not cute) On the subject but over to the side - they say you can't wear the fashion the second time around if you wore it the first time but I think if you wore it the first time and you did not look good then you get to have another chance. Thoughts?

Anway, Dolce Vita is definitely modern with an 80's twist. Everything is better with a twist.

I wish I was her: Miranda July

I am usually pretty happy being me but every now and again a person comes along and my envy and admiration grows so much that I just want to be them. Miranda July is such a person. This Extra work is on of my favorites.

It's only going to make you look better

You know what makes you look even better than you already do? Having an equally stylish and handsome partner by your side. May I suggest dressing your man Whillas & Gunn? I know it is not going to be a struggle to get Potsch into these threads. And seriously, who doesn't love a manly coal dusted gentleman?

On a rainy Day I would listen to this

I just discovered Last.fm thanks to a coworker. Now I am wrapping up my production job and listing to lovely lovely music that is transporting me to places far off.
I just had to share this gorgeous tune by Noah and the Whale " The first days of spring". It makes me think and feel everything about a place I have never been and the cold winter I spent in Chicago studying photography. So beautiful. Perfect for that rainy day full of rememberings.

Oh Happy Day!!!

What a way to start a week with a big ass Broke-Ass E-Session Spread!!!!
I am nothing but thrilled to see me & P covering the front Monday page of the much followed and celebrated wedding (and really just eco-stylish all around) blog, The Broke-Ass Bride, by Dana and now joined by her husband. Hunter (who adds some hysterical commentary weekly).
I feel so honored to be featured by the same person who inspired me to blog in the first place. Dana's the biggest and bestest go getter i have ever had the pleasure of knowing. I constantly learn from her and strive to have at least as much tenacity as she has in her little finger. Thanks to Dana I have also become a much better negotiator. I now live by the words, "You'll never know, unless you ask." Dana is full of wisdom and humor and style - definitely worth the read whether you are getting married or not or already are. Check out The Broke-Ass Bride.

Inspiration from the Happiest Place on earth

I surprised Potsch by taking the day off work and kidnapping him for his Birthday with a trip (for his first time) to Disneyland!!!
It was awesome. I had not been to Disneyland since sophomore year of high school. I have to say Disney as an adult in love and cutting work truly is the greatest place on earth!!!
We went on every ride we could in 10 hrs. I finally got to ride Dumbo! But Tea Cups will always be my favorite. Potsch had a smile on his face from ear to ear the whole day. Definitely suggest a trip for you and yours.

(Please note how buddy buddy Potsch is with Mickey)

Potsch and I tried to cover every inch of the land of Disney. We watched every Penny arcade and that is when I discovered the stunning and inspiring posters of the ol'days. Total wedding / stationary magic!

All it takes is a little photoshop and voila! Wedding invites - Wedding Website - Thank you cards - endless.....

I am happy to serve

Who wouldn't be happy to serve if you could do it on these trays?! Sometimes I think if i had that something special I would entertain more. Potsch and I are looking for a house and we found one that was in a sketchy neighborhood but the backyard was this amazing zen garden that was completely landscaped and beautiful. I thought, " I would make more friends so I could entertain out here". The house was not worth it but that garden almost had me. These trays by Angela Adams are that special something. My key to social excitement. I want one for each season. Heck, I want one for every day.

Pretend Kid - Talc

Oh you sweet kids at Talc. I want you and your clothes.

Wedding jewels

This is exactly what I have been dreaming of for my wedding outfit. I can say too much since my sweet Potsch occasional stops by. But I can't help talking a little...hehehe.
Check out the stunning creations from Elva Fields!!! She has completely stolen my heart. I am not much of a jewelry gal but when i see something that moves me I can not deny it. I am blown away by how many pices took my breath. Pure Stunning!!

Every thing has style

How much do these bottle openers rock?! Only $22. I want the elephant. I am developing a new crush on elephants lately.
I found these at Velocity, which by the way is an awesome store!

Nada nada horo

I am obsessed and I can not find them anywhere!!! Nada Horo tea pot. The colors are amazing and the shape is perfection. I am so tempted to take our honeymoon in Japan just so I can shop it up all over the place. If you have the time or the resources please give me a hand in my search.
