Happy Belated Birthday, Boots!

This past weekend, Feb 18th, was
Boots&Cateyes' 2 year old birthday! so crazy!
It is kind of mind blowing for me that I have stuck with something for 2 years that brings me nothing but joy and fun. I have made cyber friendships that give me the urge to travel and hug. I have found so many amazing creative people who are writing and finding and building brilliant things to share with the cyber world and bring us all smiles. I feel so grateful to be here and posting almost daily for you and for me.
May this next year bring us so may new adventures! Tunes on Tuesday has already become one of my favorite things to wake up for.
Here is to you and me! I couldn't do it with out you.

Challenge Accepted! Turquoise Earrings

My friend and reader, Margaret, has challenged me to find her a brilliant pair of turquoise dangling earrings to wear on her wedding day. I have accepted!
I have covered the spectrum of cash to coins- modern to vintage. Which is your favorite?

Tunes on Tuesday - Elvis!!!

Elvis Perkins that is.

This Tunes on Tuesday snuck up on me with the holiday. But I caught you, TT!

I bring you Elvis Perkins, son of Psycho's Anthony Perkins. He is a dream mix of Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan with a little Lou Reed. I dig him! I think you will too.
Enjoy.

I LOVE this song!!!!

I also bring you this song in honor of my big Hollywood weekend. I walked my first Red Carpet with paparazzi yelling my name. I made Matthew Weiner (Creator and Executive Producer of Mad Man) laugh and fall in love with me. Mathew Lillard (Scream) told me I rock! I felt like a celebrity and it was awesome! In the words of Jerry Maguire "Our little company just had a very big night."

to you all

I grabbed this off Wire Image. And if you watch the video below you can see me working the cameras at 2:02.

Can I have anutha, Sir?

I love my engagement and wedding bands. They are perfect and beautiful and me!!! Potschi did a great job. But alas my job is to scour the internet for beautiful things to tell my friends here and sometimes I find something that makes me change completely.
This brilliant amazing ring from Mociun has done it today. This square turquoise could not blow my mind more!
How do I make it my? How can I get engaged to the same man again when I am already married to him? How do we get rich so I can have pretty things like this just cause I want them?
Any ideas?

Can you Handle that?

Every where you look there is a cool or not so cool guy sporting a mustache. Heck, I even married one. At weddings it is nearly a requirement to have a bucket of fake staches on a stick for your must-have photo booth. Some guys look pretty good and some guys don't. And yet they still try. Some very few actually look good with and with out. Lucky! But you are wrong to think these hipsters with their ironic facial hair are first parody-ing Magnum PI or are even playing cool with Penny Farthington and his original big wheel. Oh no. There is group who started it all was The Handlebar Club.

"The club was founded in April 1947 in the dressing room of comedian Jimmy Edwards at The Windmill Theatre in London. There were 10 founder members, including Jimmy Edwards, Raymond Glendenning, and Frank Muir. The minutes of that first meeting are in the Club archives and it appears that although there was a goodly number of founder members they were outnumbered by chorus girls!

The object of the Club was, and still is, to bring together moustache wearers (beards being strictly prohibited) socially for sport and general conviviality. The aim of the Club was to assist by all means at its disposal, any worthy charity or cause, particularly those devoted to ex-servicemen. This aim still remains today and we have helped particularly with children's charities."

So the next time you see a mustached man you tell him he better be doing it for charity!

The most dramatic hold (Tunes on Tuesday extra!)

Today I had to call customer service and I was put on hold. I continued working while holding and listening to the hold music. My hold continued and the music continued. I gradually became sadder and sadder and literally almost cried when I finally realized what I was listening to. "Like a River" by Carly Simon. I have never heard this song in my whole life. It has to be the saddest song ever written. Who puts this on their hold mix?!
Please take a listen and tell me I am not crazy.

Tunes on Tuesday - Valentine's theme

This weekend while working at home I put on all the romantic movies I could find on my Netflicks. In the mix was the classic, Pajama Game, starring Doris Day. This song just seemed perfect for the Valentine's week.

I can't stop with the weddings

One of the things I love about the BHLDN line is how much it has inspired me to play in Photoshop. I do so much regular work in PS these days that I forget to play. Yay for Play!

These adorable and sexy (theme for the day) brides maid dresses are not actually bridesmaid dresses which is why they should be bridesmaids dresses. The lovely work of Karen Walker.I made this color palette for my friend who is planning her wedding right now. God, I love weddings. So much creativity and excitement and love and possibility. ADORE!

Healthy snack

I am addicted to kale. I love it. I love it. I love it. I seriously can not get enough of it. The other night I was out to dinner with all my ladies and their men and a discussion about Kale arose. When I said I eat it raw with a little lemon vinaigrette my friends gawked at me and nearly called me crazy. But i tell you - nothing will make you feel more healthy and excited to be alive than a fresh Tuscan Kale salad. So freakin' good!
But for those you want a crunchy yummy salty snack I offer you the Kale chip. So easy and so yummy. Get your Kale (any type will work) cut the center rib and stem off and toss around in tablespoon of olive oil. Add a bit of sea salt and some black pepper and bake in the oven at 3oo until crispy about 20 to 30 min. Boom! you have a delightful snack that won't make you feel like crap.

The food you want with out the Calories

Leah Goren has some pretty and pretty funny shirts. By the looks they are pretty and by the names they are pretty funny.

Chicken Nuggets

Hot Dogs

For you, For me, For everyone - something special

I am back to using a large purse these days and I love having everything at hand. I don't like having to rummage around though it all to find one thing. What I need is Rennes soft leather pouch. Adorable and sexy. That is my theme for this year. Let's not get ahead of ourselves. How about my theme for today.
I also thought it would make a great bday gift, bridesmaid gift, new mommy gift. Or maybe you deserve a gift for just being so rad. Get it!

Behold BHLDN

It's Here!!!!!
So many fun flirty styles with that classic Anthropologie vintage kick. See everything here.

BHLDN has some gorgeous underlining too!

Why it seems they have thought of everything you could possibly dream of for you beautiful day.
