I can't stop it - come with me

I started Instagram a bit ago but wasn't ready to figure it all out. Now it is a full on every 5 min check-in addiction. I can't help it. So much fun to see people out and about in their worlds and the gorgeous ways they capture it. And now with the New Year and a sweet little January photo challenge I am hooked. If you are on already look me up!!! and if you're not...Get on!!!!

This belly of mine makes seeing all my new Christmas shoes hard to see.

My sweet family to date. Look at my short hair. Oh brother! Getting it cut tomorrow. Who knows what this pregnant brain will ask for.

5 days into January. Not too late for you join in! I'd love to see what you come up with!! And chances are some of your other favorite bloggers are already instagram-ing.

Tunes on Tuesday - Everything's Cupcakes

This is dedicated to my friends with baby's growing in their bellies. It was sent to me with the explanation that when it was heard while not pregnant - it was good. When it was heard while pregnant - it was life altering and caused a 15 min. tear parade.
Ah, life changes. So lovely.
here is to you ladies and the men that support us. May our children cause our imaginations to blow up in blossoms and cupcakes everywhere.

Wrap it up

Finally the cold weather of California is coming!!! I love to bundle up. I love wearing scarves and jackets and pants and tights and all things cozy and warm. But the thing about scarves is I get a little lost as to how to wear them beyond the usual knot. Sometimes I am given scarves as gifts - the large square ones, those really get me lost. Well, I am found now. No excuses for not having a little extra winter style this year.

A real help

I have a couple of friends who are pregnant right along with me. Nicole is 5 weeks ahead and Sarah is 15 weeks ahead. Being a part of this soon to be mommy world is a super trip. There is so much info you need to learn and sort through. There is even learning how to help the right away as opposed to the in the way. One thing I had heard about from a mommy of a 21 month old is the idea of baby mooning - this not a trip you take before you think you can never take a trip again but rather a nice bit of alone time with you and the father and the new member to bond and connect before the rest of the family and friends come in with all their eager excitement. The other thing I learned from her was the idea of dropping off meals or giving clean up help with out requiring the parents to host or entertain you but rather you are just helping out of love and that's it.
So, I went on a search to make this food/clean/help plan a little easier for anyone who is interested. TAKE THEM A MEAL is the answer. It is an online customizable spread sheet where you can invite friends and family to sign up for what they can do. The site will even send a reminder email! And the service is free!!!
I will be setting this up today for Sarah and Clay and their almost here baby. So exciting!
This isn't just for baby parents. Think about your sick friend or an elderly neighbor who could use a little friendly help. I love the idea of connecting in a personal way with real life people again. Some how the Internet has brought so many of us closer and yet so far away. I am happy to see it is working in our favor to benefit our humanity and souls.

Tunes on Tuesday - Havin' my baby

This song has been in my mind for months now. Makes me laugh all the time. Why are there not more song being made like this.

This is the maternity series Potsch and I started doing 3 weeks ago. There is a letter that goes in the space but we wanted to save that for the baby to read first. Maybe, once it is all done, I'll post the complete version here.

Comfortable. Pretty but Comfortable

I am going to start talking in an accent. This baby bump lady is just lovely and the clothes from Hatch are brilliant.

Hatch Sequence from Ariane Goldman on Vimeo.

I love the idea of clothes that good when you're pregnant and when you're not. So smart and sexy!

How cute is this blazer and brown belt on that dress. Definitely want to steal that look.

I am wearing an outfit fairly close to this today. thanks to the rain I broke out my motorcycle boots and black leggings. I love the rain.

The new boyfriend

The other day, after a few nights of uneasy pregnant sleep, Potsch got my my very own boyfriend pillow. That is not the real name for it but it should be cause it takes up half the bed and you get to snuggle with it all night long, thus The Boyfriend. My nights are wonderful now. So cozy and wrapped up and when I wake up to pee 20 times a night I see that Potsch is equally snuggled up to the pillow and his sweet little face is right there by mine.
Now I love sleeping even more.

He's got baggage but I like it

Sometimes I get nervous that you lovely readers will kill me for posting baby stuff all the time but then I have to tell myself "It's ok! I am having a baby!"
So I hope you see these posts as things to make note of for yourself later or maybe you already know a bunch of baby/kid stuff and should be sharing it with me! I would love to learn from you too.

Today I love this bag.

It is not a diaper bag but can't any bag be a bag for whatever you need it to be? How cool would a daddy be with strapped across one shoulder and a baby wrapped around the other? I am digging it. from Fossil.

I can't stop thinking about it

Lately I have been on this kick to move to Montana and start a farm and get away from the internet and cell phones and all gadgety electronics. To raise my kid in the wild and nature and on from the heart of the land...and then my friend, Sam, sends me this...Marc Jacob diaper bag!!!! how about that print?! The print is what got me. $288 quite a bit steep for me these days but maybe if I get a little more design work and a few more photo jobs I can justify it. maybe.

Via here.

My new obsession

I have a new obsession and it goes by the name of "Pregnant in Heels" on Bravo. I know. I should be ashamed and I am. truly. But I think i have found my dream job: Maternity Concierge. I would of course throw some wedding planning in there as well.
This obsession is a bit hard as I do not have TV stations (only netflicks) so I find myself last minute inviting / showing up to friends with Tv's to catch up on my missed episodes. But this is a complete Win Win. I get to hang with friends and I get to watch absurd rich people floundering with their pregnancy.
Today I found myself pinning on pintrest all these cute maternity dresses to my "Almost Mommy" board and it turns out they were from Rosie Pope's collection. Oh, Rosie Pope for those wh don't know what the heck i am talking about, is the Baby Concierge, Host and Star of "Pregnant in Heels". She is a adorable and some of her clothes are just the same.

ps- That is Rosie in on of her own. Quite lovely.
