Gift Guide #4 stay warm

I love the style and warmth of these great cowl neck scarves from Stitch Rabbit. Hand made and all cool. They are also making me want to take up knitting.

I could disappear in that color.

Love this detail of the tail. And her hair cut is pretty rad.

Wrap it up

Finally the cold weather of California is coming!!! I love to bundle up. I love wearing scarves and jackets and pants and tights and all things cozy and warm. But the thing about scarves is I get a little lost as to how to wear them beyond the usual knot. Sometimes I am given scarves as gifts - the large square ones, those really get me lost. Well, I am found now. No excuses for not having a little extra winter style this year.

Tunes on Tuesday - Drive

I can not stop thinking about this movie. It seems to be one of those that just sticks to your bones. It gives you a feeling you can't shake. A romantic melancholy maybe? I can imagine if I were in High School and had seen this my life would be changed. I would dress differently. I would have my headphones on at all time to this Nightcall song. I am not surprised my brother, Buster, has done all of this. He was already gnawing on tooth picks daily and fixing cars. Thankfully, I can live through him.

Tunes on Tuesday - double pt 2

Thank god it rained today and KCRW was paying attention. This was the best ride to work this morning. I love the rain. I love mood music in the rain. I wanted my ride to continue.

Future Islands - Little Dreamer
so lovely. Perfect to put in your ear phones and make creative projects. Reminds me of working in the dark room at school in Chicago for hours and hours every day through the winter. Lots of loud music in my head those days.

In the Fall

PS- I think Margaret will like these boys.

Tunes on Tuesday - Double up

I gotta make up for missed Tuesdays. Here is Part one:

Lana Del Rey - Video Games
I heard this song on the way into work the other day when it was pouring rain. It was a perfect mood setter. Full of eerie nostalgia. I am please to see the video goes right along with it.
What do you think? Have you heard of her before?

Comfortable. Pretty but Comfortable

I am going to start talking in an accent. This baby bump lady is just lovely and the clothes from Hatch are brilliant.

Hatch Sequence from Ariane Goldman on Vimeo.

I love the idea of clothes that good when you're pregnant and when you're not. So smart and sexy!

How cute is this blazer and brown belt on that dress. Definitely want to steal that look.

I am wearing an outfit fairly close to this today. thanks to the rain I broke out my motorcycle boots and black leggings. I love the rain.

The new boyfriend

The other day, after a few nights of uneasy pregnant sleep, Potsch got my my very own boyfriend pillow. That is not the real name for it but it should be cause it takes up half the bed and you get to snuggle with it all night long, thus The Boyfriend. My nights are wonderful now. So cozy and wrapped up and when I wake up to pee 20 times a night I see that Potsch is equally snuggled up to the pillow and his sweet little face is right there by mine.
Now I love sleeping even more.

He's got baggage but I like it

Sometimes I get nervous that you lovely readers will kill me for posting baby stuff all the time but then I have to tell myself "It's ok! I am having a baby!"
So I hope you see these posts as things to make note of for yourself later or maybe you already know a bunch of baby/kid stuff and should be sharing it with me! I would love to learn from you too.

Today I love this bag.

It is not a diaper bag but can't any bag be a bag for whatever you need it to be? How cool would a daddy be with strapped across one shoulder and a baby wrapped around the other? I am digging it. from Fossil.

Tunes on Tuesday - Garrett Hedlund

I can not stop listening to the gorgeous voice of Garrett Hedlund. Potsch and I watched the movie Country Strong on the way back from Thailand a bit ago and we loved it. Since then I have wanted to be a country music star and I think Potsch does too. The other day I bought all of Garrett Hedlund's songs from the soundtrack ad have not stopped listening and dreaming to them. Potsch is getting a little jealous. Any man would. It kills me that Garrett is not really a country singer but rather mainly an actor. I want music from him and I have a feeling I will be wanting this forever. But for now I will continue dreaming and invite you along with me.

Man Cans

I may be a little late to this party but I am glad I showed up. Man Cans. Candles that smell the way a man would want candles to smell. Genius!

Scents like: Grampa's Pipe / Dirt / New Mitt / Sawdust / Coffee and more. Father's day may have past but I bet the man in your life could always use one of these.

Tunes on Tuesday - the classics

I first true love happened when I was 12. He was classic gentleman full of style and class, talent and charm. My heart still beats wildly for him and I believe always will. Mr. Harry Connick Jr. No joke. I was IN LOVE with him. I went to his concert. I wrote to his fan club. I save every single item I could that had to do with him. From his CDs to his movies - Memphis Belle and Little Man Tate to the wrappers that these items came wrapped in. No joke. I even have a frame autographed black and white head shot of my true love.
Lately I catch myself keeping the radio off and singing Harry Connick Jr. songs my whole way home. He is a perfect gentleman just like my husband and if I ever have boy of my own he will be a gentleman too.

This one of my all time favorite songs ever. So many memories of dancing and dreaming in my room when I was supposed to be doing my homework.

Week in the elevator

Please excuse my tardiness on this weeks elevator fashion show. A lot has been going on and hopefully I will be able to share with you all soon. Now with out further adieu...

I love this outfit! These are my new jeans size 16!!!! I have not been a size 16 since high school. That seems to be something adult women say. "I haven't been this size since High School." I have always thought it was a weird thing to say and now I am saying it. I feel super sexy in my jeans and when I wear my cowboy boots...watch out! My shirt is vintage and I picked it up at this years Vintage Expo. And my hair is freshly done. Always makes me happy.

I was a little nervous leaving the house in this outfit as I was barely awake when I threw it together but seeing this photo I am quite pleased with myself and think maybe I should dress myself asleep more often. New Shirt from Nordstroms. Rock Star Jeans from Old Navy. I did wear a rediscovered bracelet for you though. Next I will need to get a better photo of it.

This is just a detailed shot of my necklace and shirt pattern. I love the color but you can't see it so well in the main shot.

These pants made it into the goodwill pile when I got home. They are super comfortable and I was attempting to go for a J. Crew yacht look. I feel like I half made it on deck. The pants are about 3 sizes too big and I spent the day having to pull them up. But I was terribly comfortable. Like working in your PJ's.

Try as I might I could not get a great shot of these pants. They are from Thailand and you have seen me in a similar green pair. Potsch calls them my Ali Baba pants. Others call the Hammer time. Each name makes me do a strange dance that I am sure looks nothing like it does in my mind. This pair is a lovely dark violet/purple with little flowers and butterflies all over. I love purple and red together so that is what I did with my shoes. Maybe the best shoes ever. And I brought out more purple with my amethyst rock necklace.

What are you wearing? I would love to see your weekly wardrobe or even just a shot of your favorite outfit. Email me!

Walk tall

I am dying over these shoes. I think my husband would laugh and laugh at me. I would be at least 6 feet tall in these. But they look so comfortable and pretty. Like living in a dream. from here.

So many pretty things

Maslo Jewelry has got my number. I am hurting for accessories. I have two necklaces in rotation and they could definitely use a break. Maslo has me covered from wrist to neck to ears with utter beauty. And it's no surprise I think Margaret would love these too. Which may be the reason I love them double.

So many pretty pretty things. So many more on the site.

For Ivonne. xoxo

Today I found Karla's Closet and I never want to leave. My friend, Ivonne, I am guessing will feel the same. Sure puts most daily outfit bloggers to shame. Karla has infused me with inspiration. I hope I don't waste it. And I apologize to the bosses of all of you for distracting you from your work.

xoxo
