have a nice weekend!

I have noticed that on many of the blogs that I enjoy they have this sort of happy Friday post. I think that is mostly cause they don't post stuff on the weekends. I tend to just post whenever something comes up. But now I am feeling like I have missed an opportunity to wish you all well. I can't make any promises that I will keep this practice up but I can at least give you this one!
I found this on Pardon My Hindi's blog and it will surely set your weekend off right!
HAPPY FRIDAY!!!

Drawings to Photos

Yeondoo Jung's Wonderland. Turns children's drawings into Photos. Super duper photo fun!

Romeo and Juliet

When I was in High School I used to go to this coffee shop in Hermosa Beach called "Sponda" and listened to the open mic performers and wished I knew how to play guitar. One of my favorite and by far the most moving of singers was a girl I went to school with (and who later beat me out for Prom Queen - Oh the wounds run deep - HA) by the name of Alexis Gatch. She was amazing! She had an energy about her that I still find rare. She was beautiful and positive and loving and I was so intimidated by her. Anyway, she used to play this song "Romeo and Juliet" and being the drama queen that I am I would cry and cry (in the middle of the coffee shop). I never knew where that song was from until recently - thanks again to Pandora and my Elvis Costello station. Dire Straits " Romeo and Juliet" off the Making Movies Album.
Today I discovered the video. Oh my goodness it is the gem of all gems. Please watch and enjoy and maybe pick up a few style and acting tips.

Pretend Kid

Yeah!!!! I found a set of twins this time.
Odd fact: When ever I think of my future family with Potsch I always see twins. I have never wanted twins but I would be open to anything. I don't even think we have twins in our family line but you never know. Either way I hope ours would be as cute as these.

Rings are neat

I am a sucker for rings with writing. I just think they are so pretty and individual. I found these on Etsy today and really want to get them. I can't decide if I should just get one for Potsch as sort of his own engagement ring or maybe for both of us and save them till our "year before the wedding" day or maybe for both of us to mark the beginning of our new business together (which you will be hearing about more real soon). I am not a bog jewelry person but I just have a thing for rings like this and I like giving gifts, especially to Potsch. What to do? Any thoughts?

Oh yeah, you can customize the writing as well. They even have some "cool" medieval script. And for $30-$36 dollars why not just get a bunch? You could have the days of the week rings or mood rings where you have how you feel written right there - pissy / happy / (the always popular) Horny. There are so many possibilities.

Amazing Cat

I was sent this in a random email and am still in awe.

The bird finally got me...

I am on twitter and ready to tweet. I am a little confused by the etiquette of the whole experience but I can learn. Sign up to follow me and you can get to the minute sneak peeks and heads up and first looks and anything else I can manage to squeeze in my tweet. (let's keep it clean shall we?)

1st Give Away!!!!

I said I would do this and it has taken me some time but here it is - 1st Give Away!!!!
Since this is my first time we are going to start slow and then build up. Like Proud Mary.
Give Away #1 is a Sweet Summer Surprise Package
I have always loved care packages. I love getting them and I LOVE making them. So, I figured, why not make a package of care to the ones i love - YOU!!!
I decided to call it a Sweet Summer Surprise due to the over cast week we have had here in Pasadena. Don't get me wrong - I love cold over cast weather (it makes it way easier to wear cute sweaters and boots and not look crazy and sweaty) but it is June and it is time for the sun to come out and make all the flowers blossom and fruit ripen.

The Winner will get in the mail - A box filled with special fun hand picked items - all to make your summer fun even funner. (i love that word even though it is not a word)

All you have to do is leave a comment telling me about something you love. (ie: kitzies, color, boys, secrets, nylon stockings, diamonds, Edward Cullen - anything) You can leave as many comments as you like. Next Tuesday I will select a comment at random and You will be the winner.

You can have the olden times now!

How cool is this little stylish camera?

The Blackbird, fly is a twin-lens reflex camera: one lens is used to expose the film, while the other is used like a viewfinder. It’s a famous style of camera whose history stretches back to the 1920s. The Blackbird, fly uses 35mm film. You can get it here.

You can shoot square images on 35mm. So cool! and only $120.

I found what we are all looking for

I think I have found Heaven! I mean how could it not be? She is so happy. She is so colorful. She is so covered in kitzies!!! If this is Heaven then I am ready to die. If this is really the Sept 1941 McCall's cover then I want to go back in time and be a model.

Steep Street is definitely worth the climb

Steep Street is a photography / design / blog that is just the kitzie's meow! Kelty is the brilliant mind behind Steep Street and she seems to do it all and do it all really well - with tons of style and originality and love. She is of course in Portland now - she just moved with her stunning boyfriend from San Fransisco not long ago- and Potsch and I are so enamored with her photos that we are planning a ROAD TRIP to Portland. Thank you Universe! Kelty is more than willing to travel but what a perfect excuse to finally go to Portland. Kelty said her and her beau would even show us around. Ok, ok, enough about Portland (for now) back to Steep Street and Kelty.
Her photos are colorful and vibrant. Personal and full of love. I adore that she is not afraid to get close and she is not afraid to give you so much breathing room you remeber how big the world really is. I look forward to getting to work with her. Fingers crossed.

ps- if you are looking for invites / save the dates / web design and more - Kelty is your girl for that too.

I am developing a Clutch crutch

The other day I saw these gorgeous clutches in the J.Crew window.

Today I saw these stunning similar but handmade clutches on Nelle.
And there were these on Madame Cupcake. (a very easy buy at around $20)
And still there are these from ModCloth. (more than $20 but still budget friendly)

The Broke-Ass-Bride get married!

The Broke-Ass-Bride, Dana, and her man Hunter are friends of mine and happen to be very popular in the wedding blog scene. Potsch and I got to be part of the Lucky few invited to their AMAZING wedding! I was thrilled to see that with some hard work and a lot of passion you can have one of the most kick ass -most fun- most moving and most unforgettable wedding day ever.
Here are a few of their wedding photos that are also just amazing. The Photographer is Dan Chen, he is not even 25 years old yet and is already making magic with his sweet lens.
I am super excited to have my wedding. It is not for another year and 4 months but I am feelin' the burn of pressure and excitement already. So many choices!!! it can be so overwhelming.
I just edd to keep Dana and Hunter in mind. Their wedding was all about who they are and how much they love eachother and their family and friends. You really could not ask for anything more.

The greatest store front ever

This is the store window for Pop Killer on Vermont and Franklin. I
want to live in that window forever.

iphone why do you make me need you so bad?

The iphone 3G(S) is coming out in a couple of weeks and it is , yet again, AMAZING! I am not some one who has to have the latest and greatest technology. I usually can't keep up with it at all but the iphone is life changing and its updates always seem to make life better than the day before.
This new iphone 3G (s) has some features that my iphone 3G does not and will not. Sure I will get a lot of the new updates like -cut, copy and paste (finally) and mms (sweet) but I will not get the new camera that allows you to have macro focus and I will not get the video camera which could take blogging to a whole new level. So what now? I have never felt the pressure to upgrade so fast. For now I will wait to enjoy the update on my "old" 3G and if I hit the lottery (which I don't play) I will definitely get the new iphone 3G (s).
Watch cute Nelson as he gives you a guided tour of the new iphone 3G (s)

A little creepy

This morning I woke up and checked my email to find what seems to be my first stalker. In some ways I am thrilled. My acting career has been a bit on the slow side and having a stalker come out of the wood work maybe just the boost I need to start my fame quest again. But still having a faceless Fan find you on Facebook and ask to be your friend cause they liked you on Boston Legal and can't find enough of you on the net is a little creepy. What do I say to him? Do I answer his letter? Do I accept his Facebook friendship and allow him to see all my personal photos and who else I am friends with? This is exactly how Famous People get burdened with the stigma of being assholes and bitches - because they won't open up to their adoring public.
I better put make-up on before I leave the house today. There will no doubt be paparazzi waiting for me.

Letter from My Fan:
"i have just saw your great appearance in boston legal.
torrefic profile.
i must say the nose and eyes and the manner is the assets i love most.

but the information about u is so rare in the net, i almost know nothing about you except a riveting girl and a good actress, which is not what a friend should do.

so tell me something about u, my friend.

good luck."

New Moon

I have really worked hard to not turn this blog into a gushing love letter about Twilght. I think I have done pretty good. I think. But I just finished defending The actors and begged Potsch to give the Cullen's and their story another chance. And my fire was ignited yet again. I immediately looked up the trailer for New Moon - and cried.
I don't know how to explain the endless love I have for these stories. My heart aches still that I can not make their fictional story my reality. My friend, Kate, told me how much she hates the books (though she she did read ALL of them) and how bad a writer Stephanie Meyers is (again she did read ALL 4 books). I had to work hard to not break down and cry. I had to remind myself that it is just a story and not everyone has to like it. But it did hurt.
I feel pretty lame that I love a teenage vampire story SO much. But I do.

please enjoy the trailer for New Moon. I am sure the book is better but the movie looks pretty cool too. And if you know of any support groups for people with my problem please forward that information.

I heart the set

Everytime I think I am done working production I end up having to work
on set and my heart skips a beat all over again. Being on set -
honestly in any capacity- just feels so right. Big sets tiny sets.
They all just have such a brilliant energy. Loving my day!
Do you have a place like that?

Happiness in a bottle

The other night I was coming home from work and was just exhausted and
hungry. I thought it would be a good idea to stop at whole foods and
get something for dinner. As I wondered down and through the aisles I
got more and more tired and starved. I could not figure out what I
needed- what would make me happy. Until I found this little bottle.
Young Coconut Juice is not something I have had before and the fact
that it had floating coconut meat was not a selling point for me. But
something was pulling it to me. I picked it up and there on the lid
was the answer- "happiness in a bottle".
I was sold. This is what I needed.
And it was good too.

Testing me

I have been workin' hard- food and ass kicking wise. Feelin' great too. But today is pushin' and shovin' and just being a bully. I will make it cause I refuse to let this bully day bring me down. Luckily I happen to be in love with the hugest flowers around. Peonies saved my life today. (I wish that was a short story- maybe I will make a t-shirt that says that - cause it is true).
I am a little loopy so sorry.

Please note what the view would be were I not saved by Peonies...

That is craft service y'all.

Diamond Dusted and Rhinestoned

My friend, Lisa Roth, is writing for the brilliant Diamond Dusted and Rhinestoned "an online magazine, covering music, fashion, art, people, gossip, and everything else between the smog and glitter of our lives." Whether Lisa is writing a letter to Jennifer Love Hewitt or opening our minds to the fact that "everything is cool to someone" or give us the heads up on cool new business trends - she has got her finger on the pulse...though that pulse may be the pulse of one of her two pugs.
If you are looking for pure absolute perfection in comedy form please go here and read here. She makes me laugh cause it is all true.

Who wants this?

I found these at smart and final today. I was grossed out and
confused. Who wants to eat crusty old bloody bandages? Please let me
know.

Not too shabby

Life is pretty good when I get to get paid to shop for flowers and
gossip mags. I even get to keep the all on my desk and read them too.
Hehehe. I love my life.

I want to bake right now!

Oh I have found heaven. For some reason every now and again I get this urge to become a baker. I find that weird cause baking is so much math and you have to be precise and those are two things I don't do well. But none the less I want to be a baker - the cool kind with tattoos and cateye glasses and a sweet shoppe in Portland or somewhere. What brought this dream on today was this little gem - Bake It Pretty.
I mean the name alone got me. They have everything to make your straight out of the box baking look like art - even magic art!!
I think I am going to throw myself a 30 1/2 birthday party!!!

Pretty Postage

I am loving these new stamps. So perfect for wedding invite too. I get so happy when modern beautiful design can get through the bureaucracy and to our front doors. Yeah Change!!!

It never felt so good to FAIL

FAIL Blog, similar to Awkward Family Photos, has had me in stitches page after page.
please go here and enjoy. Are people really that dim? (me included)

Picnic Anywhere!

I just had to post this since I was just talking about picnics. This also came from Design*Sponge as well.
Too Cute! When you follow the link they will even tell you how to make this for yourself.

Can I live here?

Thank god for Design*Sponge and their Monday Sneak Peeks. I love getting to see into homes and then dreaming of the home I will some day have with my little artsy family.
Here a pic of my new dream home (for today):

PS- I started a new production job just for this week and I have to use a PC. I have not used a PC since...I can't remember. It has been a long time. They are so confusing. I don't know any short cuts. My images to share may be fewer per post unless I can gain some quick knowledge - ie. screen grab type stuff. Please leave a comment with any advice. lvkm

Welcome Home Spidey Didey..don't ever do that again!

Last night Potsch and I went to a friends birthday party. When we returned our three kitzies were only two. Yoko- check. Rhoda - check. Spidey - ?. Nothin'. We figured she was just outside and would come to the door once she hear dinner served. Nothin'. I washed my face and dressed for bed. Nothin'. For the next 2 hours Potsch and I scoured the neighborhood in search. I made kissy sounds as loud as I could and tried not to sound as scared as I was. Nothin'.
I went back home to be the light house on our balcony while Potsch stayed on street level chasing after a cat that was identical. Nothin'. I cried and heaved. Spidey has never been out in the real world. Just as Potsch was about to come back up stairs a meow was heard from above and behind me. SPIDEY DIDEY!!!! She was super dirty and clearly had an adventure on the roof. Thank god she is back but if she ever does that to me again....oh boy. How am I ever going to be a parent to a real child?
