Wanting

Boots are a big deal to me.  They are sexy and powerful. A little bit country and a big bit bad ass.
There is a certain shape boot that I have been dreaming of and have not been able to find in my size. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I am looking for a 8.5 shoe with no more than an 11 height.  I want a nice solid thick high heel, higher than the average cowboy boot.
I saw these engagement photos of Nicole DeAnne taken by Amelia Lyon and I fell in love with her boots.  I dig her whole style but the boots swept me off my feet.
Where does one find magic like that?

My first Marc

I have an odd love for Marc by Marc Jacobs.  There is just something about him and his clothing and accessories that makes me feel girly and special. I have never owned anything by him but when I see that other people, that I know and can pinch, own something by MJ I get overwhelmed with AWE!  It is like the good lord himself came down and handed them his very own artisanal treasure. Well, tonight I was visited!!!  I went in search of brown boots but instead found these awesome/comfortable/old lady/first lady style sling back navy blue and white peep toes at 80% off!
God is good. All the time.

Now, if only I could find MJ's Totally Turnlock Terri in grass green would the world be perfect.

Why...

I have been down in the dumps lately and found that the only thing that was bringing me comfort was to hand over my life in a very passive observational way to the internet.  I was spending hours of my days just staring and scrolling through blogs and sites that I had seen before and ones that I was just discovering, but as of last night that comfort ceased to exist and I was left with anxious emptiness.  I had been a design blog junky for too long.  My fix just wasn't good enough anymore.  I woke up this morning, more like this afternoon, and tried to check my daily sites. Nothing. I was lost. I thought back to when this down in the dumps feeling started- www.bklynbrideonline.com announced the winner for the NELLE handbag competition.  It was Presidents day.  I was expecting to hear I had won on maybe Tuesday or Wednesday. Surely they would be observing the Bank Holiday. But No, the winner was announced on Monday and it was not me.  I was crushed and confused.  I had shown my entry, for which I was so proud, to my girl friends and my fiance Potsch and even to my therapist - They all loved it and thought it was from a magazine.  So why did I not win?  On Tuesday I checked bklynbride again -This day I am sure to get a mention- Nothing.  Wednesday- nothing.  So, I looked at my entry and decided that it did not matter. I love my entry and I know there are other women (now that I am 30 I am a woman) out there with my style and love for color.  It is time I voice a voice for them. Poor grammar and bad spelling aside I started this blog.  I guess in a way I won something better than "up to 5 handbags for my bridesmaids".
fingers are crossed.

Girl Crush

This is an odd way to start my new blog - Not exactly the opening I was writing in my mind all day - but when something moves you you just have to go with it -
While looking up some idea for my "Boots and Cateyes" header I came upon this www.liebemarlene.blogspot.com.  I just fell in love with this adorably stylish girl.  I wanted to change clothes and have my own fashion show for myself. A "Wardrobe-Rethinking-Show", if you will.
I am now looking forward to going out tonight and may even leave early to get a new pair of boots.
Ich Liebe Dich, LiebeMarlene!
