Massive Girl Crush

I have to share this. Ever since I was a little girl I have been in love with this stunning goddess. I love to stare at her. To watch her. Even to listen to her sing. I realized today that of course she is gorgeous and cute in the most perfect of ratios but the reason I love her so is her hair. Sometimes I think I would trade having a "perfect" body for having Brigitte Bardot's Hair.

How to apply your make-up

I could not resist posting just one more video. I also wondered how girls learned how to do their make-up. There are always some girls that just seem to be total wizes at it. I was also always intrigued at how every photo of my granny and your sister and friends and any other other girl from the 40's always seemed to have amazing skin and clean perfect make-up. Now I know. They had these instructional videos.

So this is what a wedding shower is

I stumbled upon some lovely and quite hilarious vintage films from the 1940's. This one gave me a giggle. The bride has the most riveting engagement story.

Missing my MadMen

Thanks to my my darling, Teenz, I was turned onto this fabulous site where one can Mad Men themselves. Right from the start I was hooked. It is fun and easy just like the secretary pool.
Give yourself a MadMen make over too.
That is me with the blonde hair. Watch out, Joan. There's some new curves in town.

Potsch does not smoke in these modern times but back then I bet he would have.

Checking it off

It has been a very busy couple of weeks. Besides for Potsch getting sick and then me getting sick and then Potsch getting sick again and having my Father and Step mom in town from China for two weeks it has been a mad house. I have wedding as a full time job right now which in many ways is making me stress about not having any other work as a full time job. But I figure until normal work picks up I should get as much wedding done as I can so I don't get screwed later.

I find I have a pretty good work ethic. Once I have something as a JOB - I don't stop until it is done. My current career? Wedding Planner. And i'll tell ya, I think I deserve a raise.

In the past two weeks Potsch and I have got our wedding rings, completed his outfit sans shoes, signed a wedding DJ, made a wedding website, bought my wedding shoes, sent out our Save the Dates and best of all...Of course I can not tell you or show you anything here because my future husband does frequent these pages. But I will tell you that I had given up on my "Say Yes To The Dress" moment only to have it sneak up on me in the dressing room with the wonderful sales girl at La Soie, Angela, and my mom standing by. It is not a dress I ever expected but boy oh boy does it make me feel beautiful. I can not wait to meet Potsch on the aisle in this get up.

But I will show you our Save The Dates! I am proud to say that I designed these 4x6 postcards based around one of our engagement shots from the genius Kelty of Steep Street.

Now, I am on to the rest of the list. Time to hit downtown and start negotiating fabric prices. Also on the list is gathering of the bridesmaids and centerpiece debate: to have or not to have?

She's got it in Spades

I had quite a lovely time wandering through the Kate Spade website today. I just love her colors and combinations. Definitely vintage with a spot modern and cartoon. It is almost like shopping for clothes out of a comic book.

I'll Drink To That!

I am doing some research for camera images as I am designing my new photography business cards and I found these Vintage Camera Ad glasses. How could you not smile while drinking out of these. Only $36 for the set of 4.

Worth the Risk?

Ever since I saw and posted about that gorgeous Punk Bride I can not stop thinking about her. I love how simple her gown was and I really thought it showcased her personal style so well. I mean, she is covered in colorful tattoos. Anything else but her elegant white strapless dress would have been over kill. So I did some searching and I happened to find what I believe to be her exact dress. I found it on the David's Bridal website of all places. The dress is on sale for only $249!!!! I mean come on! But here is the hitch - it is an online exclusive not available in stores. So what now? I have not even tried on a single wedding dress. I don't even know if I look better in white or Ivory. I also am not covered in tattoos. The few I have definite don't come any where close to being as colorful and bedazzled as our Punk Bride. Would a simple plain dress look good on simple plain me? I am so tempted to just go for it. I find that I can spend so much time on stuff but all of a sudden I get to a point where none of it matters anymore and I just go. It is not a bad thing. I find it to be an efficient thing. No more talking. No more analyzing every single possibility. Just action. Just go.
I think the best thing for me to do at this point is to try on something anywhere. It doesn't matter if it is at David's Bridal or Klienfeld's. Just grab some white and throw it on. And then I will know if I look better in white or ivory and maybe I look the best in bright blue.
ah, but there is something so tasty about ordering online, getting a package and being done. Is that crazy?
