Pretend kid's furniture

In my dream of dreams my kids will always sit in style. Little Nest.

Cocktail Attire

A friend of mine from high school is getting married this September 4th in Aspen! Not only is it a destination wedding but it also calls for cocktail attire. This friend is basically the opposite of me. She has always been absolutely stunning with seemingly little effort. Flawless skin. Radiant hair. Hot body. And totally totally smart. I am over the moon to go to her wedding but I ain't gonna lie it is sending me into a bit of a insecure melt down. Cocktail Attire?! There is not a single thing in my closet that I would consider cocktail attire and cool. See the trick here is that all my high school girls will be there. These girls are all beautiful and super cool in all categories. They always have the hippest get-ups with high high heels and fully accessorized. I wear cowboy boots everyday. Well, I am not one to settle and just throw in the towel of defeat. This cocktail Challenge has been accepted! I see your sparkly top with this...
I have been eying this dress for about a year over at ModCloth. Pair with some tights...one hour later...I made this on Polyvore. How could I not?

I'm moving to Noble Town

Noble Town Vintage that is. They sure got my number with these gorgeous and completely affordable long antique-y pieces. It is no secret that I have fallen for crystals. Their beauty and power are irresistible. And you can't beat modern simplicity with a stick around me. I would love all these and build a special place on my wall to display them on that rare occasion they wouldn't be around my neck.

Say Yes

I have been obsessed with this video for months. I think this adorable couple is the doppelganger for me and P. We want to make a video so very badly but our time is escaping. Keep your fingers crossed that we get a bug about us and forfeit a night of sleep to make a bit of movie magic.

A.P.C. all over me

It is not not hard to dream of winter whilst in the middle of another heat wave. Oh how I long for a day of pants sweaters and bright scarf. Soon, me sweet. Soon. What makes these Fall/Winter dreams so much better is to imagine myself adorned in the lovely get-ups from A.P.C.

Yummy Yamashiro Market

Last night I had an impromptu invitation to joining some friends at the Yamashiro Farmer's Market which takes place every Thursday from 5pm to 9pm. It was amazing! The stands were great. The food was great. The view was to die for!!! If you get a chance to head over there I highly recommend it. Potsch and I just parked at the bottom of Franklin and had a slightly death defying walk up and a more death defying walk down at night. If you are not up for tempting death might I suggest the free parking on La Brea at Franklin with a free shuttle to the market.

Bring your own wine and snacks if you want and grab a table along the lower edge to enjoy one of the best views of a Los Angeles sunset. Truly romantic.

I promise to take better photos next time. I was just so excited!

Music to swoon to

I am in crazy wedding head mode now 100%. Every waking and sleeping breathe I take is in the name of 10-10-10 wedding.
Among many tasks on my list today is selecting and finalizing music. I love this part but it is a little hard to do while at work. Have you ever just sat listing to love songs and thought about your partner? Oh the tears that stream. My office mates must think me insane. Ha! I do love a good cry though.

Here are some lovely tunes to swoon to:

this one is great for a cry because it also come with an abridge version of Cold Mountain.

this one grows on you

I always think of this as my parents song. I love watching them dance and gaze at each other to this song. so sweet.

Talk about a big instant cry!!!! In my dream I would sing this to Potsch at our reception but I can even get through it with out crying now.

This song is intense and honest. Maybe not a wedding song or maybe yes? I know a few relationships like this.

I am usually a Jeff Buckley purest but this cover is just lovely and romantic.

I am sure I will have more to share but let's start with this.

And they're off

We were a day late but they are off now! So exciting! after months of designing and gathering and cutting our wedding invitations have finally made it into the mail box! YAY!!!!
I can still taste the glue of the envelopes on my tongue.
I can't wait to share the actual invite with you guys. I am so proud of my first wedding invitation suite. I am kind of in love with the idea of designing more and making a business out of it. Weddings are fun!

Prentend Kid - that I would have or be

If I can't have her can I be her?

To Do List never looked so doable

I love these chalk board to do list from Mary Kate McDevitt. I do not doubt I would get more done just so I could "Write it. Do it. Erase it."

Birds of a feather love together

The concept behind this sweet piece sold me - "These two birds are in love, plain and simple.
But, they know that they have to work together to maintain their relationship. Compromise and team work are key. Together, they hold their little love up." Get yours here.

Smile at the birdie with the ring

How completely wonderful is this photo booth strip?! Such a perfect narrative. see it better here.

I love Diamonds

Oooooo pretty!!!! I want them hanging from cords all over the place.
Thank you, here.

Traumatized

This move has been a earth shattering for our kitzies. Spidey seems to be the only one okay. Rhoda has taken off not to be seen in the last week and sweet little Yoko or as we call her YokiDokes spends her whole day hidden under our bed sheets. Slowly but surely, I am told, they will settle down and be happy again. My fingers remain crossed. Any advice on how to make kitties happy again?

Count Down - 2 months!!!

AHHHHH!!!!!! I have exactly 2 months from today until my wedding!!! Crazy!!!
Just like us - we have added another project to our ever expanding DIY wedding.
Envelope Liners.
Having envelope liners is a totally luxury. It was one of those ideas that I loved but knew that it would be the first to go when the crush of time boar its teeth in us. Well, thanks to a move that caused me to part with my massive library of art and photo magazines and plenty of free time at work - I made it happen!!!

You can too! I found these great stencils at Paper Source for only $10.95. There is a template for just about any size envelope. Awesome! Having the stencils means you can custom any envelope with just about ANYTHING!!! So much fun.
Instead of buying more paper just to cut it up I became a little more earth friendly and recycled pages from my well read magazines. Now every guest will have their very own surprise just for them.
Some of these will be hard to part with. I got a bit addicted to the giggle I got upon opening these envelopes.

Eye see you

How incredible are these? I had no idea eyes looked like this. So beautiful and overwhelming to me. Our bodies are truly amazing machines. See them bigger here.

Corn never tasted so magical

I had to share these. They made me laugh so hard.
Now on SALE for 4.99 at here.

It is way past time

Holy Moly! My roots have taken over my head and my emotional state. Moving and packing and planning a wedding and attending my friends wedding parties has cause my hair to grow fast and leave no time for dying. Luckily I have an hour this Saturday between wedding cupcake tasting, a friends play, unpacking and my parents coming to see our new home to have a stranger color my hair. At this point I may just swich my head around in a bucket of bleach.
My friend and brilliant hair dresser, Addie, is about to pop with a baby girl so she is sending me to Nikki at Sugar in Echo Park. fingers crossed!

I know I am a little rambly today. Please excuse. But here is a little more ramble...
My hair is crazy long...for me...right now. I want to chop it off so bad. I was growing it so I would have some options for the wedding but at this point I just want it gone. What do I do? Stick it out for two more months and know I can cut it after or Go for it now?

Oh What a Beautiful Mornin' Oh What a beautiful Day!

Stunning bougainvilleas at our front gate

Potsch and I are steadily unpacking and getting ourselves settled into our new home. We couldn't be happier. There is always that little bit of fear when jumping into change and as usual it all turns out splendid. We are waking up to the most wonderful light in our bedroom. Makes starting our day so exciting and special. We have been meeting our neighbors who have all been artsy and fun.
We have so many plans for our new life and having a lovely home is making those plans seem so completely reachable.
Now, I have to remember I have a wedding coming up in less that 65 days. CRAZY!!!!!!!
