Blurred Reality

This morning I was racing to get to work on time. I had a late night the night before and it was really taking it's toll on me by dragging me out of bed and into my car with out a shower or my face on. To make matters worse I was out of gas and could not remember when the gas light came on so I could not chance ending up on the side of the freeway.
I made a quick shameful stop at BP owned Arco to fill up. I was zoning out as my car was getting heavier with gas until a cop car pulled into the station. Suddenly I was a bit on edge. Trying hard to look normal and just "going along with my business". The Cop in the passenger seat was looking at me steadily as they parked. "Great", I thought, "He is gonna walk into the store and right by me. Just stay calm", I told my self. A very large and handsome cop with a huge white smile strolled to the AMPM with his eyes locked on me. I pretended yawn and he asked "How are you, this mornin'?" "Tired", I said with a lame fake sleepy face. The cop went into the store seemingly let down by my unattractive answer. A wave of relief swept over me," I made it. He doesn't know anything."
As I got in my car I finally listened to voices in my head. What am I talking about? I didn't do anything so what am I talking about? Then it hit me. My weekend of watching Dexter and the second season of Friday Nights Lights has now blurred my reality and I am walking around thinking that I have innocently killed someone. Maybe it is time to turn the TV off.

Hope comes alive

I am addicted. I tried to stop by having the cable guy come and dismantle my cable but still I have found another more pure form of tv fix - this one comes as a marathon on netflix thru my Wii. BASTARDS!!!! I sit at work these days counting the hours down to the minutes and then sit in traffic cursing the wasted visual time until I am home curled up on my couch - priorities forgotten - as I click season 1 Friday Night Lights. I am 11 episodes in and have cried at least once at every episode. Potsch refuses to get wrapped up in the show with me. There are times I am sad we don't get to snuggle as we watch the relationship of Jason Street and Lyla Garitty unfold. But then again I am thrilled that I can watch episode after episode in one sitting and not have to worry about Potsch needing to catch up. I thought this addiction would settle after watching season 1 of Dexter but instead it has just gained strength.
Tonight Potsch has a class until 11pm. That means at least 3 episodes back to back. I can't wait to fall more in love with Tim Riggins, Matt Saracen, The Coach and his Wife.

This will make me a doll collector

"Gracefully molded of Silkstone®, a material that resembles the look and weight of porcelain, each doll is stylized in iconic costumes from the series, and comes with accessories true to their show counterparts. Don Draper wears his classic, polished red-lined suit and comes accessorized with a hat, overcoat and brief case; Betty Draper's classic look is captured with unparalleled detail, from her faux pearl necklace to her pumps; Joan Holloway looks chic in a purple skirt suit and perfectly styled coif with her staple accessory - a pen necklace; and Roger Sterling is looking dapper in his monogrammed shirt.
Fans can get exclusive collectible sketch drawings of the Mad Men Barbie Collector dolls when the Season Three DVD hits stores on Tue., Mar. 23 as each DVD set will include one of the four character sketches. The Mad Men: Season Three DVD contains all 13 episodes of the season and is also loaded with hours of special features including extensive commentaries and innovative featurettes that examine the historical events that shaped 1963.
The Barbie® Fashion Model Collection Mad Men Barbie® dolls will be available for a suggested retail price of $74.95. Available at BarbieCollector.com, amctv.com and select retailers."
On a side note - I am currently working on a pilot for TBS in the LA Center Studios in Downtown Los Angeles. This is where MadMen is filmed and produced. It take everything in me to not hunt the production down and just attach myself to them permanently. Sometimes when my job gets rough I just image "What Would Joan Do?" Then I stand up straight. Reapply my red lipstick and walk through the office with a swagger in my hips.
Thanks Teenz for the heads up!

Damn you expensive Cable!
I am madly in love with The United States of Tara and I am pissed that I can not watch it and keep up with the episodes. There was this nice fellow who was posting the episodes on youtube but now they have been removed! Bastards!I know people got to get paid and I want those people paid. I know these people and they definitely deserved to get paid but why make some thing sooooo good and not share it with everyone? I am sorry for venting. It's just I don't get to watch a lot of tv and when I find a show that I like, even love, I want to get to see it.I will save a warm space in my heart for you Tara.
Until I see you again - probably at a friends house on their Tivo after they have already watched you. Damn sloppy seconds spoiler.
Day Jobber and Exposed Brick
Drew and Erika have been producing, directing, starring and writing their own web series Exposed Brick, since January of this year. They just posted episode 8 and they just keep getting better.
This is episode 6 cause Potsch and I got to be guest stars and cause the episode is called "Nice Boots".
Check it out!
