Hope comes alive

I am addicted. I tried to stop by having the cable guy come and dismantle my cable but still I have found another more pure form of tv fix - this one comes as a marathon on netflix thru my Wii. BASTARDS!!!! I sit at work these days counting the hours down to the minutes and then sit in traffic cursing the wasted visual time until I am home curled up on my couch - priorities forgotten - as I click season 1 Friday Night Lights. I am 11 episodes in and have cried at least once at every episode. Potsch refuses to get wrapped up in the show with me. There are times I am sad we don't get to snuggle as we watch the relationship of Jason Street and Lyla Garitty unfold. But then again I am thrilled that I can watch episode after episode in one sitting and not have to worry about Potsch needing to catch up. I thought this addiction would settle after watching season 1 of Dexter but instead it has just gained strength.
Tonight Potsch has a class until 11pm. That means at least 3 episodes back to back. I can't wait to fall more in love with Tim Riggins, Matt Saracen, The Coach and his Wife.

And the Winner is....

No one just yet. I wanted to check in and see if anyone would be up for a contest?
I had a friend tell me one time that my blog is not that kind of blog. But I have so much fun giving cool fun stuff away. So, I figured I would check in with you amazing readers - any one up game with prizes?

hehe found this cleaning up too.

The things you find

Oh the things you find when you start cleaning up. My computer and hard drives have been getting real slow lately. So, I figured the thing to do was clean up. I have been finding all kinds of images that I pulled long before I ever had a blog. Anyway, that is what has been stealing my time lately. I making room for more/new blog worthy stuff!!! yay!

I made this for Potsch for xmas one year when I gave him a gym bag full of gym stuff. I forgot about it till I found it while cleaning. Still makes me laugh.

Oh Gawd...

My mother is a person who has slapped sense into me many times. A month ago she slapped me out of wedding blogs and made me realize how I was obsessing and they were begining to destroy my own personal wedding. She was right to knock me around abit. I definitely needed it. and now she sends me this - Wedding Gawker. Are you kidding me? My life is no longer my own. Wedding Gawker is a site that gathers all the popular must see more images of weddings from all over the internet. It is the purest straight to the blood stream wedding drug.

My kitzies deserve ModKat

Potsch and I are the proud parents of THREE cats. We were never cat people until our landlord found them flea ridden, 4 weeks old and just as sweet as could be. They now are the apples of our eyes. We love everything about them except the litter dust and pebbles they leave on the floor. This is why they (really Me and Potsch) deserve to have this stunning, non-descript - except to call it modern beauty - cat box by ModKat. It is only $180 (not including the liner). That sounds like crazy talk but the freedom it offers makes it almost worth it.

My pretend kids - My boys

Most of the time I fall in love with photos of messy beautiful little girls but today the boys shined a bit brighter. These boys made me giggle and get excited. I no doubt will go poor dressing my children in some seriously fine fashions. Thanks to Little Fashion I will know exactly where to go.

Worthy of being forever

Lotta Nieminen's artwork makes my heart sing and my skin tingle in desire to be tattooed with such loveliness.

Summer time means BBQ time

Living in an apartment means not investing in a great outdoor grill but it does mean slightly splurging on a Bodum Picnic Charcoal Grill. In so many colors you just want want them all!

Up do - Down Do - Short or long do?

Wedding hair. I am lost. I am not a big hair do at all. I just recently learned how to blow dry my hair. I have no tricks. All I can do is make it so it is not quite as frizzy and fried as it would be if I air dried it. I get my hair bleached because it gives me style with out me having to do anything else to it. So when it comes to hair on my BIG day I am having someone else do it...but how?
Some times I get so excited about having my make-up and hair done that I start imagining myself on a Bryant Park Catwalk. Big and crazy and extreme or slicked back blank face extreme. I have to remind myself that this day is not a fashion show it is a wedding. When I show up at the top of that aisle and see my Potsch I am presenting myself to him. I am showing him the best version of myself. This means that I have to have that perfect balance of wear and doing what makes me feel great and wearing and doing what he loves on me. Ofcourse, he loves what ever it is if it makes me feel great but there are some things that set his heart a flutter all on their own.
So what do I do?

This is basically my veil. A little smaller but still bubbly.
My hair is about shoulder length right now. It is the longest it has ever been since Potsch and I started dating. My friend and Hairstylist, Addy and I got super excited about this concept. I love big messy hair. We would definitely have to had a bit of fake locks to puff mine up this much. I adore this look. So much fun and drama but does this answer to the fashion runways side of me rather than the "your future wife" side? I worry that Potsch will think it is fun but it would not be his first choice. The fake hair alone will scare him a bit.I heart this look. Modern and sexy. Structured with some mess. I think this could be a great look for me. I also love the make-up. It is far more modern than I was thinking but that is not a bad thing. Who would love those lips? I am also in search of a wrap or sweater for later in the night and this color looks amazing.

Yes, I know there are a lot of photos of Drew here but come on, she has great style and she is daring and classic. She is like a cuter sweeter Madonna.
This look is nice and a little closer to typical wedding hair. It has a touch of mess which saves it for me. But it is a little plain. I do love the swoopy bangs.

My new thought is to stop growing and start cuting. Potsch said, not long ago," Do you think you will ever cute your hair short again?" It is no secret that Potsch loves my hair short. He feel in love with me when I had short hair and his mom has ALWAYS had short hair. Mom's are always the most beautiful woman you will ever know until your lady has your baby. Again, no surprise that he loves short hair.
I am in love Michelle Williams. This sweet vintage-esque bob would be nice. The make-up is also not far from what I imagined I would have. Is this too sweet?

I could just flip the bill completely and chop it all off. I love having my hair super short. No need to stress about styling cause there is nothing to style. I think this could be super adorable but I would need to hit the gym this second to have a pretty sweet jaw line to accentuate.

My last idea....This is a crazy photo but it is the closest one I could find to Potsch favorite hair cut on me. When I had my hair like this we called it the french orphan. I even had a little bit of a shae in the back. HE LOVED IT!!! My veil would look super cool with this hair too.

You tell me, what would you do? There are so many option. I want to look gorgeous and feel super stunning and sexy but I also want to make sure he gets his dream too. Of course I know that I could be in a cold goods paper bag and he would be crying but I want to be able to look back on the photos years from now and both Potsch and I can say "wow you look so gorgeous. I love your hair like that."

Danna Ray

Lately i am being drawn to water colors. There is something soft and comforting about them.
I really enjoy this work by Danna Ray. Would love to have these framed in my home.

This reminds me of a summer night in july with the fireworks in the distance. So pretty.

reasons

It is photos like this that make me want to keep growing my hair long.

Slices of songs

I am obsessed with these prints by Music Philosophy. I love music lyrics taken out of context. Like prettier fortune cookie sayings. I can't where to buy these as posters but you can get a few as t-shirts. Let me you if find em.

Time to Kill with magic

Potsch turned me on to Robot Unicorns Attack last night. I am not a gamer in the slightest but I could not run from the tempting death magic that is a Robot Unicorn. As soon as I got to work today before checking email or getting coffee I played a round of Robot Unicorn Attacks and achieved my highest score. If you are looking to kill time and do it with magic and a great song I highly suggest you go here.

Sold!

How stunning is this packaging? I want a whole old mother Hubbard's cupboard full of the Babee's.

The top

When you close your eyes and picture your wedding cake what do you see? Who or what is posed up top? I have seen couples go the funny route with a lovely princess kissing a crowned frog. I have seen sweet DIY birds nested in frosting. I have even seen a stunning, though creepy, Day of the Dead diorama. The couple explained how it symbolized eternal love - ironically they were annulled 4 months later. And there is always the classic vintage couple dressed in classic wedding attire looking blank faced and primed for the unknown future. So many choices. How do I decide?
The search begins now.

If these were two kitzies I would be all over that!!!! But these cocker spaniels from Stella By Star truly are soul mates.

Icon Design has this gorgeous vintage plastic couple. I love their out fits! So stylized. Elegant and simple but still so special.

Goody Devi makes these custom goth cowboy figures. I love all the colors but this doesn't really match the rest of our day.

I love this circa 80's vintage topper from Blue Eye Brown Eye for the look on the couples faces. They seem to have an inside joke which makes me giggle.

I found these big eye Ryden-esq custom toppers by Dandelion Land. They are a bit pricey but what a lovely piece of art to have through the years.

What are your thoughts? Would you do something less traditional?
