Superbomba straight to my heart

My mind has been racing with inspiration from Superbomba's Flickr photostream. SB has gathered a ton of found photos and loaded them up for all to see. The span time and fashion and relationships. Total brilliance. I am continually shocked at how many make me stop thinking "that's a photo of me/ my family!" just to realize that we all have the same typical photos in our albums. The details may be a slightly different be we are all the same.
If I had a writing group or a little more motivation I would randomly select a photo a day and write the short story that matches it. Pure total inspiration! Thank you Superbomba.
What kind of reading material is that for a child?

Where did those suds come from?

Absurdity at a red light

The driver has no shirt on and that dog is taxidermied.

The Devil must've been beatin' his wife

Last night after yoga I came out to one of the most beautiful just before dark sky's. The colors were amazing and mysterious. The temperature was balmy and there was a slight sprinkling of fat rain drops. As a kid I was told "The devil must be beatin' his wife" when it was raining and hot. A creepy visual for such a stunning reality.

Sit clutch, sit. Good Clutch.

TsuruBride has the most adorable clutches in the most spangly of colors. Just imagine being dressed to the 9's for a night out and then grabbing one of these squirrely bags as you head out the door. What a perfect amount of play to serious ensemble.
And get this, she can make custom designs too. Don't see your favorite animal? Just ask!

Can't wait!!!

There are quite a few movies coming out that I can't wait to but one ticket and spend the day sneaking into. "It's Kind of a Funny Story" will definitely be one of them.

A little mid-day pick me up

Tell your bus driver your on you way to a double dutch affair!

Bon Iver

So beautiful. So mellow. Loading on my iphone now and never taking my headphones off.

"Justin Vernon moved to a remote cabin in the woods of Northwestern Wisconsin at the onset of winter. Tailing from the swirling breakup of his long time band, he escaped to the property and surrounded himself with simple work, quiet, and space. He lived there alone for three months, filling his days with wood splitting and other chores around the land. This special time slowly began feeding a bold, uninhibited new musical focus."

I want this

What lover of design, art, color and balance wouldn't want this?!
Charles and Ray Eames DVD box set $89.

I heart Beklina

Oooohhhh so pretty, Beklina. There are tons of other pretty items to see but these made me giddy. How stunning are those earrings?!

I saw this necklace described as a fancy camp necklace. I think that is why I fell in love with it. It would be an awesome way to bring in some color with a white wedding dress.

HF is Harvey Faircloth

Adore! These perfectly summer looks are just the cat's meow. Definitely something for my margs and kate in these looks. I bet there are items you'll drool after too! Harvey Faircloth.

Wedding Update! Oh the nightmares

It has started. The dreaded wedding nightmares. What makes it all worse is that we are in the dead of summer in Pasadena on the second floor with no AC and a fan that doesn't do much but blow hot air. If I am not waking up from swimming in a pool of sweat then it is from my wedding nightmares.
These fantasy wedding catastrophes have me clenching my jaw through sleep so hard that I had to have an emergency root canal last Monday. No Joke! Is it all worth it? God, I hope so!
The main focus in these foggy tales have been our invitations and me having never sent them out which results in no one showing up. My stomach is turning just typing about it. To make matters a touch worse I can't find my wedding binder anywhere. I am trying to breathe through it but really I am prepping for a massive migraine.
My weak remedy: To consciously dream about facials and massages.

Hopefully, whatever does happen on our real wedding day will make us laugh years later.

Nothing like a strong sexy woman's POV

Kim Reynold's is a trail blazer. She is a strong sexy woman and she is far from scared to show it. She can be intimidating to men with her straight forward aggressive goal getting sexy female stories. Kim is definitely not afraid to flip the script. I say it is about time women stop pretending all they want is a sweet night of hand holding and snuggles. Sometimes we want to be pushed against a wall and sometimes we want to do the pushing. Thanks to Kim (aka: Easy Lover), we have been given a strong and hysterical voice. Read her stories on The Games of Dating.
here is a sweet taste.

"So, we hop in the whip, which in this case was my sick ass Jetta GLS, and go to the Roadrunner, a river-front bar that serves a 60oz. drink called the Roadraper. What’s better than a drink with the word rape in it? Nothing, that’s what. Who needs roofies when you’ve got the Raper? Gotta admire things that get right to the point. Unfortunately, this little gem of an establishment was also dead. Our options were either Willie Nelson’s toothless grinning twin at the bar or Dom Delius’s chunkier cousin who was staring from two tables down. I’d fuck just about any man: fat, short, tall, skinny, bald, dreaded, hairy and horny but I couldn’t get a hard on for either of these trailer treasures. After about an hour of being somewhere between bored and bored we bone the fuck out. My sister keeps a death grip on her Roadraper refusing to part with it. See, chicks dig it."

Somewhere

I can't wait to see this at least 5 times in the theatre. I was addicted to "Lost in Translation" and I expect no less for "Somewhere". How beautiful is that song also?

The song is by the strokes "I'll try anything once"

Time to go swimin'

Hello sweet Anthropologie. You have some very nice bathing suits.

I love She and Him

Can I be two people at once? Cause I wanna be She and Him.

Fourth of July

Hope you all had a happy splendid independence day this past weekend.
Potsch and I got to attend a classic BBQ at my friends Nicole and Cal's new place in silver lake. It was a super grand time full of yummy food and funny laughs. The ladies had a riveting conversation about the pros and cons of ingesting your placenta after birthing your baby. Though we laughed a lot I think we all let with some thinking to do.
Nicole, one of my best friends from High School and also the Baker of the soon to be Sweet Spot bakery and creamery, made some amazing white sangria and a Mud pie: almond cookie crust, espresso mousse cake, nutella (nutella from scratch! what?!) pot De creme. Coffee liqeur whipped cream to top it. It was a deliciously amazing day.

I don't have a photo of the White Sangria but you could have one. All you have to do is mix "chardonnay, brandy, yellow and white peach puree, mandarin soda and simple syrup.
grapes, mint and nectarine slices for garnish.
yummers...
" nicole

Secret tip* soak your peaches in the brandy over night and then puree them or maybe throw a few chunks into the glass. yummy!

You've got Vintage Mail

Potsch and I are getting closer and closer to our big wedding day. I will be sending our invites off to be printed this week which has got me thinking about envelopes and postage. You spend so much time designing and picking the invite you really can't just stop there. The whole package is a package. You are delivering a wedding experience. Have some fun with it!
Maybe you pick a plain brown craft paper envelope and then you can spice it up with a bold bright colorful pen and pretty hand written addresses. A trend I really enjoy is the vintage stamp. Verde Studio has a lovely collection.

how can i not love these kitty stamps!

This trend can be a beautiful touch and it can also be a time consuming searching project. I have the idea to blend the vintage with the modern. Grab those vintage images you love so much and then have your own stamps made with them. Cost is probably comparable but the time saved will be a god send as you get closer and closer and need every extra minute you can grab. Zazzle is a wiz at custom stamps.

ALAD

A Lyric A Day project by Lukes Beard is just stunning and genius. These are definitely something to print and hang with honor (soon that will be a option). Check it out.

Why don't you love me?

I wish I could play like this everyday.
