Sneak Peek - First time ever!!!

It looks like Potsch and I may have stumbled upon a new passion - Other Peoples Passion.

This past weekend was spent in Palm Springs capturing the fun, crazy love of engaged couple Margaret and Patrick. You all know of Margaret as my super duper cool talented muse. Now you get to see her sparkle and shine with Love. I definitely feel an obsession coming on. Getting to work with my husband, who shot a stunning 8mm of the day (coming soon!!), and surround ourselves with couples so in love and excitement is intoxicating. Of course that might just be the power of M+P.

Live Action Pretend Kid

Yes. This will be my little boy.

Oh light be in my life

Love these.

The real Milk and Cookies

Just another reason having a baby and breastfeeding are rad.
I have known since I was a little girl that there is magic in cookies. But as I venture into trying to make a baby I have had to give up all sweets and fun snacky food. This means cookies. I have not found a single person who will go with me in my fight that "Cookies are magic" until now. Milkmakers. Besides for having a brilliant logo they also have a brilliant idea. Cookies that promote lactation. No joke!
"milkmakers lactation cookies provide your body with the calories it needs to make milk. milkmakers cookies have a combination of oats, brewer's yeast and flax seed that help with milk production, making it easier to pump when you’re away from your baby and breastfeed when you’re together."

PS- there is a video on their site. enjoy.

Meet Up with your goals

Lately I have been playing with a few ideas regarding blogging and blogs. 1. I want more! I love blogging and playing online. Finding cool, fun, beautiful things to share and oogle over. It's the best part of my day. I love hearing from you gorgeous readers too. 2. Maybe start a new blog? this idea is on the fence. Part of me feels like "why not just throw a bunch of energy into what I already have?" I mean, I already have 3 blogs. Boots is my main one and the one I keep up with the most though. 3. getting into the blogging community and showing my face more. This is a scariest one for me. It would mean showing up alone and insecure to a group of uber cool ladies. I would dork out so hard. Jamming up verbally would be the least of my worries. I am good once I know what is going on but I am a complete weirdo shy corner poetry writer at the start. Ask my high school friends they know. And yet I feel the longing to connect. My mom is a big food blogger. Her blog is amazing and she knows some many of the blogging ethics that you are really only privy to once you enter the world of blogger meet ups.

So, all this brings me to where I am today: Loving Boots&Cateyes. Posting as often as I can to make you and me smile. And trying to get the courage up to attend the Pinterest Meet Up.
I love Pinterest. Can't hardly get enough of it. It would be so fun to meet people there and learn more about blogging. But what do I wear. what do I say? any advice? anyone wanna go with me?

If you wanna go be sure to RSVP here.

Pretend kid all growns up

I have a complete obsessed love with Bri Emery of DesignLoveFest. I seriously don't think I can live with out her. In Thailand when I could grab a sliver of internet service I was checking out her blog so I wouldn't miss anything. She is crazy talented, stylish and gorgeous/adorable. She inspires me to the point that if I ever meet her ( which could happen) I have no doubt I would get all jammed up as if I was meeting a big time hollywood movie star.
Today I realized that it is too late to be her but boy oh boy I would take her as my kid. So Bri is my first pretend kid all growns up.

Most of these shots are from Bri's new sweet video about her scarves. See it here.

Tunes on Tuesday - Big return

There is nothing really big about this return except that it is Tuesday and I have tunes for you. Credit should be given to you, my lovely readers, for letting me know that you count on this and enjoy it. I want to give you world but only when I know you're looking.
xoxox

This song has been playing on repeat in my heart and mind for days now. Alexander is the front man of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros (brilliant). This is from his solo album where he is doing it ALL by himself. amazing. No doubt this song will take over the wedding world just like the Edward Sharpe's Home did the same.

Life is short.

Oh I want this not only on my wall but in my brain and heart always. Here

The heat is on

Potsch and I spent our weekend in gorgeous Palm Springs shooting our first ever engagement shoot. The weather though hot was perfect and made for one of the most stunning sunsets Saturday night. The couple, who are less than 100 days from their wedding day, could not be more in love. this made my job a whole lot of easy.

I can't wait to share the images with you!

We had a lot of fun getting into crazy space and maybe a little more getting down from them.

Gratuitous Shot of Myself: I picked up these super rad glasses at the gas station. I am also newly loving being in my bathing suit and laying around pools. All this means my weekend was brilliant!

Watch it!

I am a fan of the watch. Ask me that when I was a kid and would say, "if it's digital". But in these days of turning to you phone for the time or not knowing the time I am in favor of the classic time piece. How much more classic can you get than with a boyfriend style gold watch? I want it. but rose or champagne? Life's decisions are oh, so hard.

A week in the elevator

I am a big fan of people posting about their real fashion. One of my favorites comes from DearBaby. Melissa took a shot of herself in the work bathroom mirror everyday to show off her absolutely adorable maternity style. Now, I'm not pregnant, yet, but I do love seeing big baby bellies with style. I also have developed a creepy shopping habit cause of Kendi Everyday. She looks so stylish all the time that I can't help but follow her links and try to get the same style. Happily I am sticking to my personal style and just turning it up a bit in the effort area rather than completely losing me and becoming them. I also noticed that I smile more when I am out and about and see someone in a crazy get up. Fashion is such a brilliant place to express yourself. I get excited when people do.
Potsch and I have had a few bickering discussion as I have handed him my camera to document my outfit only to be left standing awkwardly in the middle of people while he tries to invent a camera angle no one has seen before. He is getting quicker and i am learning to be more loving of my awkwardness but I am tired of waiting. I like process. I so much more into the evolution of ideas to things than just things. So, here we go. My week in the elevator. Everyday I show up to work on the lot (I am back on New Girl for FOX as we got a pick up!) I have to ride the elevator up one floor. It's the only place with a full length mirror. I am going to shoot my outfit and on Friday I will share a new week in the elevator. Who knows maybe this will evolve into a stylish baby bump fashion show as well someday?

I wasn't thinking about starting this on Monday as I was all nervous and jet lagged still. But don't worry. This was the best outfit to start off with.

The great thing I bought in Thailand are my "Ali Bubba" Pants. That is not at all what they are really called but that is what Postch calls me in them. I love them so very much.

My cowboy boots are a staple. I even brought them AND wore them in Thailand. They are the perfect shoe for everything. Mine are a bit on the worn side though. A trip to the cobble may be in their future. I have also taken a liking to mixing up my patterns lately. My motto in the mornings is if it doesn't go then wear it! not everyday but most days lately.

Dress
I can't really live without Target. For a few bucks you can put a big happy retail therapy smile on your face. You get good stuff that mixes well and last just long enough. I am a fan of the maxi dress. Comfort and style. Like wearing a glittery tent. Potsch was laughing at my hair when I woke up this morning as it was sky high for my short do. So, I threw a little dry shampoo in there and decided it was meant to be. I asked him if he liked it before I was heading out and he gave me the funniest sweetest face while being speechless. "I can't tell if you are kidding or not?" I told him I was not. I actually rather like it this way. And he likes when I am happy so I will answer for him by saying, "Baby, I love it!"

So, that is my Week in the Elevator. I will get better about adding my links. The Target website is an endless maze.

It's a start

Here is a simple start to a redesign. My mind is still racing with all the things I want to do and make in this life and this moment. I love hearing from you, my readers. It makes me smile and want to type more to make you smile. Thanks for commenting on what you want and like. I will be sure to keep it up.

All the love,
Khali

Everything looks clearer now

TOMS of the one for one shoes has now ventured into eye wear. Classic designs with a little surprising color pop. And the same deal applies. When you buy yourself a pair you are also giving sight, be it surgery or medication or therapy, to someone in need. How rad is that? I may be getting myself the Classic 101 blue tips or classic blue tips in Tortoise. Check out all the colors online.

Let's meet at Mundvoll

Mundvoll is a corner store complete with café in Germany and I am going there. I wish. The interior design was done by newly-formed design studio Joint Perspective based in London. I love the energetic casualness of the colors and seating area. Mundvoll's hope is to give a push back for the Mom and Pop establishments. I say YES!

break it up

Loving these segmented pillows from Blue Cloud.

begging for change

I have been so lackluster about blogging for awhile now. I need a change. I want a redesign. I want to bring in more focus. It will take me a bit to learn how to get what I want but I want to keep you in the loop as I go. Also, I would love to hear from you if you have any thought about what you like / want / need / or had enough of. It's hard blogging to silence. I know you guys are out there and are reading and I wanna keep you happy. I also want to get to know you better. So let me have it. Give me those thoughts.

I keep listening and watching this sweet movie. The song "A Million Years" by Alexander from Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros seems to stir a bit of the inside sparkle. Making me want to change. Nice feeling. The video is also filling me with ideas for my 1st engagement shoot this weekend in Palm Springs.

Cover the Walls

No matter what I can not let the thought of having children someday (maybe sooner than later) leave my head. When Potsch and I were in Thailand I kept trying to buy all these handmade stuff animals for our someday baby. I did get one and it is rad. A little creepy but rad. And now I find myself slowly creating a collection of wall art to hang in a room that we don't have. But I can't help it. I want to fill this life with so much love and thought and design and color. I don't want to just rush out to Walmart and pack the room with all "Baby" stuff. I want it all to be special and have special meaning. This is not to say that there won't be things and moments that just happen. And there wont be things and moments that develop their specialness down the line. I guess I am just over flowing with love for this child that is still just floating out in the universe waiting for its perfect time. I am learning to trust time and life a bit more. And maybe my slow collection is helping me with my patience. So bring on the help Small talk Studio.

Liebe Liebling

I am loving these shoes right now from Liebling.

My mexican granny

If I had a little girl I think I would dress her like either an art gallery show hobo or a little Mexican granny. More on the hobo at some other point. The Mexican granny would have her closet furnished easily by Pink Chicken Show.

On our way

Potsch and I are finally on our way home from our 18 day honeymoon trip through Thailand. Honestly, I'm not ready to come back. I was sure that by day 17 I would jumping for joy to be returning but strangely I am not. I am thrilled to see my sweet kitties again though. That is for sure. But potsch and I had such a brilliant time traveling. Sure, there were a few moments that weren't so brilliant like the time I was sure that our AirCon minivan driver had kidnapped us and picked up his family to help him murder us or the time I was so tired and worn down that I, like a complete fool (please note I was very good about my money until this one time), left my money in the easiest pocket on my backpack that was mistakenly tossed onto a moving ship going the opposite direction. Luckily the ship was coming back 6hrs later which gave the crew plenty of time to open up the easy pocket and steal ALL my money, about $300, and my iPhone. Those times were not the brilliant ones. But I tell you them now so I can wow you with all the other greatness from our trip. And really a few buck and an old phone ain't a big price to pay for story.
I give you this shot of us on our most honeymoon moment. The most classic early relationship shot that marks us, khali and potsch, as the old couple in the matching jump suits.

I'm feeling the itch

I am feeling the itch and though I am still covered in mosquito bites from traveling Thailand (more on that soon) that is not the itch I speak of. It could be because my little brother who is not so little anymore and is actually a total man adult just got a complete sleeve. For those not in the tattoo lingo world that means he has covered one of his arms in tattoos. Crazy business. His girlfriend also just finished her back piece which is gorgeous and covers her entire back. Nuts-o! These are not the tats I speak of for my self. I am more of a random sticker look myself. When I think of tattoos on my body I want to be the embodiment of an 8th graders binder. Just covered in random scrawling. Some has memory and some you're like " what is that? Why is that on there? I don't remember doing that." yes, my goals are high in life. I know. So what next? I have a few ideas but nothing jumping at me just yet. I am a sucker for a good typeface. And getting tattooed feels so great. You are nervous to make the decision then you make it. It hurts but fills you with excitement. Then you spend a day (this may only be for the slightly older crowd - me) feeling like "what the fuck did I just do? This is forever!" and then you love it. As long as you thought about it. So, I am thinking about it.

Get the grillin'

Summer is here which means it is time to stock up on coals and lighter fluid. No room for a BBQ? Hate that when it is not summer you have to have a small island taking up space in your yard? Fear no more. Grow some herbs to throw on your salmon or something more sustainable and get to grillin' with this rad Hot Pot BBQ from black+blum. I sure do love good useful design.
