Common Thread Studio has something to teach you

There was no Home Ec. class when I was in school. At the time I thought nothing of it but these days I am uber bummed to not know how to do a proper hem on a pair of slacks or lay in a zipper with out it getting all bunched up. Thankfully Common Thread Studio is here to teach me and YOU! Located in South Pasadena, just of the red line Mission Street stop and right next to the fun SP farmers market (on Thursday at 4pm), Common Thread has opened it's doors for passer bys to be enticed by some of there retail items, like Skinny La Minx Tea Towels, and for stumbling sewers looking to stumble no longer.
This store is open and inspiring and filled with machinery for your use (even free to use some times). There are classes for every level of sewer - from the never threaded a needle to the I have a project i need help with to the Detail Coutour. There are even classes for kids. And the prices are super comfortable.
What a great way to kick off Fall by adding to your skill set and giving handmade gifts for the holidays.

Check out their website for a schedule of classes or just stop by and say Hi! to Jin (the stunning and stylish owner) this Saturday at the South Pasadena Art Walk (5pm-10pm on Mission Street).

This is Jin. Love that dress.

Skinny laMinx tea towels and aprons.

How gorgeous is this packaging? There is a great selections of gifty things and books.

Sometimes there are silk screening classes as well (though not listed on the site). How cool is this slop sink / screen watch tub?
